day 72: nana birthday celebration

Woooooooooooohooooooooooo nana turned
60 YEARS OLD!!!

Happy birthday nana. We love you bunches. We bought nana her favorite flowers for her birthday. We were watching them sway in the wind. They are dangly and pretty. Today we went to Aunt Julie's house to celebrate nana's big day with a bbq. We all surprised her with a book specially designed just for her containing letters from close friends and relatives telling her how special she is. It brought nana to tears. Aunt Julie did an awesome job putting it together.... and mama was all doing the covert operations stealing family photos and scanning them in... break into nana's address book, phone, and computer to get info Aunt Julie requested... She even made international calls... oops.. sorry Kaye. Aunt Julie was making mama break the law... but we must say it was all worth it to see nana's face. If only words could only express how awesome she is. No one will ever know how caring and self sacrificing she is. Simply put, she is an amazing women, and even more amazing Nana. (and mama says "an amazing mother, she couldn't have done a better job!")

The day was great, filled with food, pictures, and endless hours of Wii. Can you say our family is addicted. We just chilled with daddy and nana most of the time and mama was the "photographer" for the occasion. She did a good job. She took loads and loads and loads and loads of pictures.

here are a few.

oops mama didn't upload them... :D

<-images coming soon->

well we are getting tired... telepathically transmitting our thoughts through momma is hard work and very tiring.

Happy birthday nana!!! WE LOVE YOU!

day 65: lake house adventures - lazy days

So Arden and I ventured to our family lake house for the first time this weekend. We were still recovering from our 2 month wellness visit that made us feel not so well... I repeat we do not like shots! We wore momma and nana out but our cousin kristyn tried to help out too when nana pulled the "sorry can't do it/I am going to sleep" card. We had a little bonding sesh... she sang to us a sweet lullabies of her creation... I think it went like this "go to sleep, go to sleep, go to sleep my little babies. Go to sleep, Go to sleep , Go to sleep before I scream... go to sleep, go to sleep, go to sleep I am begging you... go to sleep, go to sleep, go to sleep before I scream." (I think mom proved her point that taking care of two of us is tiring some times.) Arden and I were totally stoked to see how much fun and how much trouble we can get into at the lake house... all we need to do is grow and be able to crawl and the twins will turn into the little imps... can you say...

Get your motor runnin'
Head out on the balcony
Lookin' for adventure
And whatever comes our way
Is that an open cabinet?
Is that a great hiding place?
Is that you that called us once
did you think we zoomed into outer space

We like hide and seekin'
forever make you wonder.
Racin' with my twin
And the bed that were under
Yeah Darlin' we're going to make it happen
Take the world in a love embrace
drive momma crazy more than once
And make her zoom into outer space

Like a true nature's child
We were born, born to be wild
We can climb so high
We never wanna say goodbye

Born to be wild
Born to be wild

Wow breaking out in song haha... that was fun. American Idol see you in 17 years.

day 63: 2 month appt

Well today was our 2 month appointment with Dr. Reidy. We love Dr. Reidy but nurse Judy's assistant was mean to us... can you say a tragic scarring event of repeated stabbings, weighings, and measurements. They gave us some stuff to drink... that wasn't too bad but then she poked us three times... THREE TIMES. The needle was as long as our fingers. It was scary but we were brave. We may have cried a little. (okay Arden got really mad and turned red and screamed really loud in protest and I cried because I could not believe that they would keep stabbing me repeatedly... like what was that about. If they were testing my reaction... it was consistent I DID NOT LIKE IT!!!) We have come to a quick conclusion, we hate shots. We hate shots worse than we hate dirty diapers. With all that we survived... not feeling great though. We have been vocalizing to mommy that we feel not so good since we got home. She gave us some really good tasting gooey sweet red stuff and it made us feel a tad better but nothing feels better than her holding us and talking to us. It is going to be a long night... what??? she let them do this to us... she stood there and held us down. :( she said it was ok... it wasn't ok. oh well I am feeling a little tuckered out so I will end here and scream some more in mommy's direction. She thinks nana can sooth us... we don't think so.

Arden:

weight: 11 lbs. 2 oz.
height: 22 in.
head c: 38.5 cm

Ramsey:

weight: 9 lbs. 9.5 oz.
height: 21 1/2 in.
head c: 37.5 cm

mommy note:
Arden and Ramsey did great! They were not happy in the least but who would be stoked about shots? Arden is now in the 30-60 percentile. (weight was 60 percentile as you all probably guessed) Ramsey is now on the charts averaging around 5-10 percentile. He has some catching up still to do. They have been pretty fussy since they got back home but they are doing good. No allergic reactions or fevers thus far. The kids are fussing... gotta go.

day 48: still, still sick.

Today we brought Ramsey in, yet again, to the doctors. He does not have RSV, the test was negative thank god. He is just going to have to go through the motions. Stuffy nose, cough, just feeling like $***. He has been fussy through out the day so I know my little man does not feel good and he is getting sick of it. Besides that he has gained 1LBS and 2.5 oz. in 1 week. IN ONE WEEK. My little man is 8 LBS. and 3 oz. almost double. :( He is getting so BIG!!! Aunt Julie needs to come hang with them before they are giants... crawling about. Tomorrow... no in a few short hours Arden and Ramsey will be 7 weeks old. WHERE HAS THEY TIME GONE? They don't stay little for long :(

day 42: still sick.

Well the kids are 6 weeks old today and have been fighting a cold since Sunday which they gave to me, So we all feel like crap and aren't sleeping and this really sucks. We have to put saline drops in their noses and plunge it out and put a humidifier in their bedroom. They have been running low fever. I have awesome kids... I know they feel like crap and they still haven't been insanely fussy at all. They are just eating more frequently because they can't breath.... so we went from every 3 hours to ever 1 and half to 2 hours. Anyways when we took them in to the pediatrician she was worried about Ramsey's breathing... even though he only has a head cold, he had very labored breathing. He was tightening his stomach. They did a blood test on him to see his white blood cell counts (they were out of the RSV test) the white blood count suggested that it is just a cold but to watch for difficulty breathing, fever over 100.4 rectally (oh how I love taking these temps) or increase in coughing and so forth... Today Ramsey seemed a little more congested and I got a load of snot out this morning but it was clear so that was encouraging. Besides that we are all sleep deprived.

So I did the math on the weigh ins on the kids... ummm they are health.

Ramsey had difficulty gaining at first but not anymore!!!!!

Birth weight: 4lbs. 13 oz. we struggled to get back there but did so when they were 2 weeks old with fortified breast milk.
At 3 weeks: 5lbs 14 oz. gained 1 lbs 1 oz in 11 days umm I think he is good with the weight gain now...
At 5 weeks: 7 lbs .5 oz gained 1lbs .5 oz in 14 days.

That is 2 lbs 3.5 oz in 25 days.

Arden had no difficulty as seen below.

Birth weight: 5 lbs 10 oz
At 3 weeks: 6 lbs 14.5 oz. (gained 1 lbs 4.5 oz)
At 5 weeks: 8 lbs 11.5 oz. (gained 1 lbs 13 oz. in 14 days)

That is 3 lbs 1.5 oz in 25 days.

Ok they are supposed to gain 8 oz. - 16 oz a month... They are rushing to catch up... they don't want to be the small kids. The sad thing is that they are the size of normal full term babies but feel so huge... I would have died if these kids would have came out of me at this size!!!!
